Assemblies of God breaks 87-year curse in AKS

The Assemblies of God Church Nigeria recently concluded its Missions & Evangelism programme in Abak, Akwa Ibom with the General Superintendent, Rev. Chidi Okoroaofor prayerfully lifting the suspension meted to late Noah Udoetok, the human founder of Assemblies of God in Abak and curse on Abak Community by white missionaries.

While lifting the suspension and curse during the programme titled; “Abak 2016: Operation total invasion”, Rev. Okoroafor said that since the people of Nkwot in Abak have genuinely repented and asked God for forgiveness, there was need to lift the suspension and curse which had affected the people of Nkwot and Assemblies of God Nigeria in Akwa Ibom State. 

He pronounced God’s blessings upon the land and the people of Abak. The people of Abak are now expectant of what God will begin to do in their land. Many people who attended the programme which from March 1-6, 2016 at Abak Sports Stadium, Abak Road, Abak LGA received diverse blessings, deliverance and miracles from God as many people surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ. 

During the evangelism crusade, the Executive Committee of the Assemblies of God Nigeria officially launched Decade of Rapid Multiplication, a 10-year programme aimed at winning souls for Christ and planting of churches across the states in the federation and beyond. As part of the vision, the Executive Committee commissioned 120 missionaries with the mandate to plant a minimum of 50 churches in Abak community.

The fiery preacher, Dr. Okoroaofor, said what makes Assemblies of God Nigeria stand out from other Pentecostal is the spirit of discipline which the church had maintained since its creation in 1934 till date. 

Rev. Sunday Timothy Thomas, chairman, Abak Missionary Area, in his welcome address said, “it could be recalled that Assemblies of God, first came to Abak in the 1930s but due to the unfaithfulness of the leaders then, the land was abandoned and the work seized.
